The notes app your AI can actually read.

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Codex once, and they can search your notes, read them, and add to them. There's an assistant built into every note, too, and an API for everything else.

Your AI forgets. Your notes don't.

Every chat starts from nothing, so you paste the same background in again and again. Meanwhile, your plans, your research, and the decisions you made last month sit in a notes app no assistant can open. Scratchpad puts the two together.

Claude and ChatGPT, reading your notes.

Scratchpad is an MCP server, which is how AI apps reach your tools. Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, or anything else that speaks MCP one address, sign in, and approve it.

Then ask in plain words. "What did I write about the Lisbon trip?" searches your notes. "Add the ferry booking to my Lisbon note" adds it. Your AI reads the PDFs and pictures in a note, too. How to connect yours.

An assistant in every note.

Open it in any note and ask about it, search your other notes, or have it rewrite a passage. Select some text and an Ask AI button sends just that.

It never changes a note behind your back. Every edit comes as a change you accept or reject, and the version before it stays in the note's history.

You decide what it can touch.

Each app you connect gets one of three permissions. Capture can only add notes, Read can only read them, and Full can read, write, and organise your folders. You can take any of them back in Settings.

No assistant can delete a note or put one in the Trash. That's always yours to do. Locked notes stay closed to all of them, and we never use your notes to train AI models.

  • Works with the apps you use

Claude on the web, desktop, and phone, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, and any other app that takes an MCP server. One address, and nothing to install.

  • It reads your files, too

Ask about a 60-page PDF or a photo of a whiteboard, and your AI reads the file in the note, not just the words around it.

  • Or bring your own key

Already pay Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google? Run the assistant on your own key for US$8 a month, with no message limit. How it works.

I use Claude every day, and I got tired of pasting my own notes into it. Now I just ask, and it already knows what I wrote.

Good questions.

Which AI apps work with Scratchpad?

Anything that can add a remote MCP server: Claude on the web, desktop, and phone, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, and more. Give it https://app.scratchpad.sh/api/mcp, sign in, and approve it. Step by step.

Do I need the AI plan to connect Claude or ChatGPT?

No. Connecting apps and the API come with both plans. The only difference is the assistant built into Scratchpad: at US$12 a month it runs on our key, with 500 messages a month, and at US$8 it runs on your own key, with no limit.

What can a connected app see?

Only what you allowed when you approved it: Capture, Read, or Full. Every connected app is listed in Settings, and you can disconnect any of them in one click.

Can it delete my notes?

No. No assistant can delete a note or put one in the Trash, whatever permission it has. A rewrite goes through a change you can see, and every earlier version stays in the note's history.

What about private notes?

Lock a note with a password and it's encrypted on our server. No assistant and no API token can read it, whatever permission it has.

Do you train AI on my notes?

No. We don't use your notes to train AI models, we don't use them for advertising, and we never sell anything about you.

What's an AI key?

The assistant runs on an account with an AI company. On the US$12 plan it runs on ours. An AI key, also called an API key, is a code from a company like Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google that lets it run on your own account with them instead. They bill you for what you use, and Scratchpad sets no limit. A ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini subscription isn't a key. Not sure? Choose AI included. More about using your own key.

Is there a free trial?

No, but there's a 30-day money-back guarantee. If Scratchpad isn't for you, email us within 30 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full.

Ask your notes anything.
