Publishing a note as a page
One tab turns a note into a web page. Everything else stays private.
Share… in a note's menu, then the Publish tab, gives the note a public address anyone can open. No sign-in, no link required.
What a reader sees
The note as it reads, with its images. Attachments turn up as download links, and a PDF downloads as the original file, without anything you've drawn on it.
They can't edit it, they can't see your other notes, and there's no way in to your account from it. Under the note sits the date you last changed it, a link for reporting the page, and a line saying it was written in Scratchpad.
The address
A published page gets a readable address made from the note's title plus a few random characters. It's fixed once the page exists, and renaming the note doesn't move it.
Unpublish and publish again and you get a brand new address, so the old link stays dead rather than following the note to its new one.
Unpublishing
The same tab takes it down. The address stops working straight away, though a search engine that has already indexed the page may go on showing it in results for a while, which is out of anyone's hands but theirs.
Publishing is per note
Nothing is published unless you press the button on that note. There's no account-wide setting that opens anything up.
